Noriko Shakti stands out in the global music scene as a dynamic Music Producer, DJ, and Tabla player with roots in Tokyo and over a decade of rich professional experience.
Renowned for her innovative fusion of bass-centric genres—such as Drum and Bass, House, Techno, Dub, Breaks, and Electronica—with traditional Indian music, Noriko’s creations are a symphony of global rhythms and cultural echoes.
Throughout her illustrious career, Noriko has shared stages with legends like Apache Indian, Karsh Kale, MIDIval Punditz, and Pandit Purbayan Chatterjee, and has worked with influential UK artists such as General Levy, Roska, and Killa P and from US, Grammy Award-winning engineer Daddy Kev.
Noriko’s career began in Tokyo, where she initially made her mark as a DJ and track maker, touring and releasing music that resonated with diverse audiences.
She made history as the first Japanese national to earn a M.A. degree in Indian Music, specializing in Tabla, followed by a Ph.D. in Instrumental Music from the State University of Kolkata.
This academic achievement not only honed her musical skills but also deepened her appreciation and understanding of cultural music forms.
